How to maintain the roll heat press and diagnose faults?

The calendar heat press can have its parts' lifespan extended by comparatively easy maintenance.

The following three actions are imperative:

Each month, lubricate all of the bearings.

When the electricity is off, dust fans and other electrical components once a month.

Use an air nozzle to remove dust, paper shreds, and lint from the roller's left and right ends as well as the pressure shaft once a month.

How do we judge and solve some faults?

1. Unable to heat up properly：

1) The calander typically reaches the temperature needed for heat sublimation in 40–60 minutes. The solid state relay can be damaged if the machine continues to run at a very low temperature for longer than 30 minutes.

The multimeter can be set to buzz. It should show 0L or 1 and there will be no continuity when there is no power. The solid state relay is broken if it shows 000.1, and  there is a sound.

The temperature control module can be damaged if the machine has a touch screen and the solid state relays test comes up positive.

Should there be a button panel, there's a chance the temperature controller is broken.

2) In case the temperature takes more than two hours to reach the desired degree, let the machine cool down, disconnect the power source, and take out the left and right panels from within the chassis to observe the heating tubes' connecting wires.

Restart the machine, allow the drum to spin, and check for any burned-out copper wires that are attached to the heating elements.

If not, check if one of the groups has an excessively low current by using a multimeter to measure the current at the solid location during the heating process. In that case, the heating tube's burnout is expected.

3) If the temperature can rise to over 100 degrees, then it continues to drop on its own.

You need to check three aspects:

First, check the fan at the position of the solid state relayS to see if it can rotate normally.

Second, observe whether the AC contactor can pull in normally, whether it emits abnormal current sound, or whether it keeps beating on its own.

If there is an abnormal sound or difficulty in suction, you can first remove the blanket from the machine and cut off the power supply.Then use an air gun to blow off the dust on all electrical components on the machine, especially the AC contactor.

If there is an abnormal sound, you can cut off the power and check whether the circuit is loose. Reconnect the AC contactor wire.

If none of the above methods help, then the only option is to replace the AC contactor.

2. When the blanket feed button is pushed, it rebounds automatically and cannot automatically feed the blanket. 

Check whether all the intermediate relays controlling the circuit are on. If the light comes on, you should check the circuit breaker connected to the machine's power cord.

3. If the calandra does not respond and cannot start after pressing the “start ”button, the fuse should be replaced first.

If the problem persists after replacing the fuse, you should check whether the intermediate relay next to the AC contactor is burned out.

You can take it out and see if it turns black. If it's black, it must be burned out. If there are no signs of burnt out, you can try to replace it.

4. If 88888 appears on the inverter panel, it may be that the cable connecting the panel to the inverter is broken, or that the plug-in port and cable of the inverter are in poor contact, or that the inverter is broken.

5.Unable to automatically correct the blanket position:

1) Check whether the photoelectric switch is broken. 

2) Check whether the two intermediate relays controlling edge correction are broken. 

3) Check whether the motor is working properly.

6. If after several years of use, the color of the sublimated fabric appears different of the left side or right side, you should check whether one side of the blanket is too loose.

Or it could be caused by the blanket being too old. 

If it is not the above problem, then it may be caused by not changing the thermal oil for a long time.
