A calander sublimation is roll type heat press with a drum for main component. Most of them is used for sublimation printing roll to roll and roll to pieces. Compared with a flat heat press, using a rotary heat press can greatly improve working efficiency.

Choose oil heating or electric heating heat press?

Distinguished from the heating aspect, they have two types, one is electric heating and the other is oil temperature. Generally, the big drum diameter calendar heat press doesn't have electric heating. Almost all of them is using oil heating method. The 210mm drum diameter, which we called small drum diameter, some suppliers are selling the electric heating and some are selling the oil heating. Which type is better？

From a price point of view, electric heating is generally more attractive. But from the perspective of long-term use, there is no doubt that oil temperature is the best choice.

Generally speaking, oil-temperature calendar generally have more complete functions and generate even heat. Of course, calandra made by different manufacturers have different functions. The thickness and type of roller used all affect the uniformity of its heating and the color effect of the transfer. We check whether a finished product has been transferred well. We not only look for uniform color, but also make sure there are no ghosts or wrinkles. Whether there are wrinkles also depends largely on the quality of the drum.

Which drum width should I choose?

After confirming which type to choose, we also need to confirm the diameter of the roller and the width of the roller, because this is related to the width we want to transfer.

If your sublimation printer is 1.8m, the width of heat transfer paper and roll fabric is 1.7m, and the width you need to transfer is 1.6m, then a 1.8m wide drum machine is enough, and it can transfer a width of 1.65m width. The 1.8m wide roller transfer machine is also the most popular size.

Which drum diameter is the best?

Also, you need to confirm how many meters you need to transfer per hour. If the amount you need to transfer is relatively small, such as 35 meters, then you can choose a drum diameter of 210mm. If you need to transfer quickly, it is best to choose a drum diameter of 800mm. Of course, you also have to make sure how much power your factory can use.

If your factory cannot use a high-power machine, but you need to heat transfer 500 meters per hour, then you can choose 5 420mm diameter machines or 2 600mm diameter machines instead of 800mm diameter.

The width of roller heat transfer machines ranges from 1.2m to 3.4m, and they are generally manufactured according to customer needs. The diameter of the drum is usually 210mm, 320mm, 420mm, 600mm and 800mm, etc.
