There could be several reasons why your flat heat press is not getting hot. Here are a few possible causes:
1. Power supply: Check if the heat press is properly connected to a power source and that the power source is functioning correctly. Ensure that the power switch is turned on.
2. Temperature settings: Make sure that the temperature settings on your heat press are set correctly. Depending on the model, there may be specific temperature settings or controls that need adjustment.
3. Heating plate: The heating element in your heat transfer machine may be damaged. In this case, it may need to be replaced. Consult the manufacturer's instructions or contact a professional for assistance.
4. Thermocouple: The thermocouple in your thermopress machine may be malfunctioning, causing it to not heat up properly. This may require professional repair or replacement. Generally it is connected from the heating plate to the temperature control meter, and it needs to distinguish between the positive and negative electrodes. Generally, red represents the positive electrode, and blue or black represents the negative electrode.
5. Temperature controller: Check whether the parameter settings of the temperature control meter, especially P, I, and D, have been accidentally changed. Contact the machine supplier to confirm what P, I, and D should be. If there is no problem with the parameters, then the thermometer is probably broken. Take a photo of the original wiring and use a new thermostat to follow it. If it is a thermal press with touch screen control, it is likely that the wiring at the temperature control module is loose and needs to be reconnected. After reconnecting, you need to observe whether the light of the temperature control module is on. If not, you can observe whether there are signs of blackening. If not, you can use a multimeter to measure the DC voltage at the positive and negative poles on it. If DC is greater than 4V, then the temperature control module is normal. If it is less than DC 4V, the temperature control module needs to be replaced.
6. The solid state relay or AC contactor: Check if it is burned out. You can check whether the appearance will be burnt black. The AC contactor can be checked to see if it can pull in normally, whether it jumps or whether it emits abnormal current sounds. (Large format flat heat presses are using AC contactors.)
If you have checked these possible issues and the problem continues, it is recommended to contact the manufacturer or a professional technician for further assistance.
